About

Back in November 2012, I broke my back.

Ouch. I wasn’t paralyzed, thank goodness, but the recovery process involved up to six months of bed confinement, a back brace that looked like Wonder Woman armor, and physical therapy, not to mention a helping of mental and emotional stress.

If you’re wondering how this story is relevant, it’s because this blog would’ve never come to be if it never happened.

I literally began Merely Inspired out of boredom. I was so restless from being in bed all day that I decided to do what I had wanted to do for the previous two years: start a blog.

It turned out this otherwise horrible event was actually a good thing. It was the catalyst I needed to shake me up and inspire me to jumpstart (or perhaps return to) some goals and dreams that I had neglected and forgotten.

It’s very likely you have some goals and dreams that perhaps have been sitting in a journal somewhere tucked away in a drawer. Or, if you’re not the writing type, they’ve been sitting in your head for two years (maybe more?). I’m not saying you have to break your back now (and please don’t; it hurts like hell), but perhaps you need a bit of inspiration, or advice, or encouragement to help you jumpstart. If that’s the case, you’ve made an excellent breakthrough: you’re going to find all of that here.

You can find compelling yet practical advice on the topic of pursuing and accomplishing goals and dreams, or some creative inspiration. The best thing you’ll find, though, is a community of like-minded and like-circumstantial individuals sharing their stories and knowledge. Sometimes the best kind of advice can come from those experiencing the journey alongside you, ya know?

I may have begun Merely Inspired from boredom, but there was always a goal in mind: inspire and challenge you to get up, go on, and create. Perhaps something you read today will inspire a little idea that will give way to a bigger idea. Perhaps it will rekindle the hope for a dream you suddenly remember you had forgotten. Perhaps it will connect you to a kindred spirit who understands your thoughts. Perhaps? Who’s to say? Might as well give it a try.

Today is the day you’ve been waiting for. Now make a reason why. How? I don’t know. That’s for you to decide.

I’m just here to merely inspire you.
