A Poem A Week #23

There’s this Thought

There’s this thought
In the back of my head
That won’t go away; it’s fraying
The threads of my brain, undoing the seams,
Loosening the precious stitches that hold everything together.
It’s pulling, untwisting, over and under, over and under, over and under…

There goes the quilt.

And here I lie, while the thought runs free, away.
There’s this other thought.
