A Poem A Day #37

Lipstick

All I want for my birthday
Is lipstick,
So that I can kiss you goodnight.
I can leave lip marks on my children’s cheeks
When I give them a quick smooch
As they walk out the door.
They’ll grumble and grimace,
But when they go to wash it off
They’ll remember me.
I want lipstick
So my lips will glimmer as I talk,
And then no one will possibly forget
What I said.
Then I can blow them a kiss
As they leave,
And I’ll forever be in their memory.
I want some red got lipstick
That’ll go will some smoky eyes
So that I’ll stand out in pictures.
Then all our friends and family
Will definitely remember what that was.
All I want for my birthday
Is lipstick,
So that when I say I love you,
It’ll add some flavor to it.
