The Hand and The Rock
Draw a hand on the rock.
It’s for you, to remember.
Why remember the hand on a rock?
It’s for you, to know,
To understand.
See a hand on the rock?
It’s the hand on a rock,
Just for you.
Why remember a hand on the rock?
It’s the hand, the rock,
That is why you must remember.
Draw the hand on the rock.
It’s for you, to remember.

There’s something about this poem that may not be noticeable right away. Every line that had “hand” and “rock” in it, I alternated the “a” and “the” between the two until the end. It was an attempt to create a unique poetic balance.
